Thanks to Chatham Park’s very large first shipment of drink pouches, we received points from TerraCycle as well as earned multiple entries into the Drink Pouch Brigade Giveaway Contest….and are excited to announce that WE WON!
Thank you Capri Sun for the drink pouch pencil cases and a storage bin to help with our collections. Without your sponsorship for the Drink Pouch Brigade, this opportunity to raise money for our local library would not be possible.
We also want to thank Chatham’s principal, Sara Christianson, for allowing Trash to Ca$h into her school. And we want to send out a very SpEcIaL thank you to the dedication and persistence of the Cafeteria Manager, Natalie Torpey, and Head Custodian, Denise Pelka, for making sure that all drink pouches are placed into the Trash to Ca$h can! Trash to Ca$h wouldn’t be a success without these wonderful people!
So far 4,222 drink pouches have been collected at Chatham Park Elementary School and over 1,350 chip bags have been collected from the High School! Trash to Ca$h is very excited about the program’s progress so far this year. Thank you to everyone who has been actively participating!
The Haverford Township Free Library is now a participating Trash to Ca$h location! Printer cartridges will be collected here which will be turned into ca$h to financially support the many programs they offer our community.
Manoa Elementary School is now a participating Trash to Ca$h school! Drink pouches will be collected here to earn money that will be donated to the local library.

After a successful debut as a pilot program during the 2011-2012 school year at Haverford High, Trash to Ca$h has now become a permanent fixture in the school collecting chip bags.
The idea of a district wide terracycle program was planted when Katrine, a board member of the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library, noticed the terracycle information on the back of a Capri Sun box.
Since then, the idea has continued to grow as she is aspiring to encourage the next generation of students to not only recycle to help the environment but to also create an awareness of the local library and its financial needs.
With the support and sponsorship of the Friends of the HTFL, Trash to Ca$h has become a reality and will continue its success as more and more of the community becomes aware of it and actively participates by turning their Trash to Ca$h to support the Haverford Township Free Library!
